I just want to showcase how much bigger Dustin has gotten! He was born 5 lbs, 5 oz and then dropped down to 5 lbs flat after birth. I'm happy to say that in two months Dustin has gained 5 lbs so he is now tipping the scales at 10 lbs and is 22 inches long. This boy is an eater!

Gaining Weight
I just want to showcase how much bigger Dustin has gotten! He was born 5 lbs, 5 oz and then dropped down to 5 lbs flat after birth. I'm happy to say that in two months Dustin has gained 5 lbs so he is now tipping the scales at 10 lbs and is 22 inches long. This boy is an eater!
Hot Debate
Right now there's a hot debate among family members over what color the baby's eyes will be. At birth, Dustin had gray eyes which slowly turned a dark blue. Currently, his eye color depends on what outfit he's wearing. Sometimes they're gray, blue, or green. Only time will tell but there's money riding on this and Mommy better win!
First Walk to the Park
Slow and Steady Wins the Race
Getting the baby to enjoy bathtime has been a slow battle. At first, he would scream the entire time and I was convinced that someone was going to call the cops for abusing him. I tried a million different things before I found a bath routine that must be followed to the "T" in order to avoid tears.
Here's the song and dance:
1. Turn off the air conditioner to warm up the apartment
2. Let the shower run on hot water only to make the bathroom toasty
3. Sit the baby in his Papasan chair and turn on the music
4. Fill up the baby tub with very warm water (he will not go near luke warm water)
5. Undress the baby and place him in the tub while repeating "We like baths!"
6. I have to squat in the garden tub next to his baby tub (sitting on the edge or leaning over the edge of the tub won't due)
7. Make the most absurd facial expressions and talk to him with a high pitched voice
This is a picture of Dustin's bathrobe that has Tigger on its head. I propped up Tigger's face so the baby would be distracted and he was looking at it like "Stranger Danger!"
Don't Believe Hollywood Movies
Hollywood movies make pregnancy, birth and the first couple of months look like a walk in the park. Boy are there things that I wish I knew beforehand! This picture of Dustin taking a nap is the equivalent of
spotting a shooting star. This boy never, ever likes to take a nap. It's like he's afraid he's going to miss something good.
I struggle every day to get him to take naps lying down on his own but it seems as though he only likes to sleep on your chest which isn't very convenient. I keep getting advice to do chores while he's sleeping. Ha! I can barely move three steps away before he opens one eye like a pirate to see where I'm going. The moral of the story is that my apartment is a mess but I don't care because I'm enjoying every minute of motherhood.

A Mother's Love
It was hard each and every time to leave him in the NICU and go back to my room. He was so tiny at 5.5 lbs! I was so scared to hold him and change his diaper but the nurses were angels.
Best Day of My Life
It was the easiest delivery known to the human race. I hardly felt my contractions and had Dustin out in 4 pushes! I was up walking around within an hour. What more could a mother ask for?
I hoped that the easy delivery meant that I would have an easy time with this child. Hahahaha....
