Daycare Fun

I have never seen a child enjoy daycare as much as Dustin! He absolutely loves going to school and playing with the other kids. I feel so lucky to be able to drop him off to school and know that he will have a great time. The only problem is that he feels inspired by the older kids and he thinks he can walk (which he can't at the moment) so he'll pull up on something, start cruising, let go and whack his face on something. This has led to three head injuries in the last three weeks (see the carpet burn on his nose in the pictures.)

Despite the recent injuries he hugs his friends in the morning and I even caught him kissing a classmate named Bianka! Uh oh, I smell trouble...

Baby's First Xmas

As a young Mom, sometimes I hear advice given to me by those who are more "seasoned" parents and promptly ignore it. Dustin's first Xmas was one of those occasions. Everyone was telling me not to go on a crazy spending spree because "he's just going to play with the boxes." Did I listen? Of course not because a baby's first Xmas is really for the parents.

I could have saved a lot of time and money by buying 2-3 inexpensive gifts for a baby that still gets startled by his own farts. That little boy opened up the first gift, stackable rings that cost a grand $6 by the way, and could have cared less about any other gifts that he received. Next, he found immense joy from playing with a cardboard tube. Some lessons you can't learn until you experience them first hand.

Ear Tubes

About 1.5 months ago, Dustin had to get ear tubes put in because he had a chronic double ear infection for two months. I'm so happy that I decided to get the tubes because I've noticed a dramatic improvement. Not only has his ears appeared to stop bothering him but Dustin's "talking" has returned full force.

I was so worried about how Dustin would react at the hospital but my little man was so fascinated by all the gizmos and gadgets there. Of course he was treated like a little prince by all the doctors and nurses who thought he was the most fun little guy they had ever treated.
